Basic food tracking process

Role based processes

In the food supply chain, each roles have different processes. In most processes, a participant provides information, and another role verifies that information. For example, when Veterinaries check a transport, they verify the information on the livestock / fresh food provided by the sender (e.g. the Farm).

Farms

Farms can order identification materials, activate them when applying to the tracked item, add food safety information to them, and send transports.

Agents

Agents can accept and send transports when they buy/sell tracked items.

Slaughterhouses

They can verify transported item data, accept transports, create tracked items after the slaughtering process, send transports.

Wholesalers

Wholesalers can verify transported items, receive transports, create new tracked items after the cutting/repackaging process, send transports.

Food producers

Food producers can verify transported items, receive transports, repackage and apply new identification materials to them, send transports.

Markets and retailers

Retailers can verify transported items, receive transports, they may repackage and apply new identification materials to them.

Veterinaries

Veterinaries can check the fresh food more times. They verify the data the previous participant sent, and decide to allow or disallow the item to go to the next step.

Authority

Authory representatives can check transports, identification materials, and their connected data at any time.

Category based processes

As the roles, stages, processes are different for each food categories, TE-FOOD provides customized solutions to fulfil their specific needs. All category related processes provide optional veterinary checkpoints at each step, as well as built-in fraud management functions.

Pig

While animals are identified to help the slaughtering process, transports can be identified as a whole as well. During cutting, pork is identified by package boxes. When packaged for retail, label sticker are applied for cost effectiveness.

Poultry

Poultry identification is done by lots and transports. The system supports differentation of baby chicken and chicken farms. Food producers apply label stickers to packaged meat for cost effectiveness.

Egg

Egg identification is done by packages and transports. When the food producer repackages the items to ship them to retail, label stickers are applied for cost effectiveness.

Cattle

Cattle identification is at animal and transport level. After slaughtering, meat is identified at package box level. During packaging at the wholesaler/food producer, label stickers are applied for cost effectiveness.
